Emo is stort for emotive hardcore. The whole emo thing is basicly the music reflected the anger the writter/singer felt so the assumed anyone who listened to it was angery with life. I hate stereotypes. Scene is from techno so honestly who knows what he is…? This wasnt met in a mean haha kind of way….

I don’t know that, and I would say don’t diss goths but they are a stereotype too. Stereotypes are fun.
There is a huge variety in “emo” i’m called emo all the time, but only because im shy/quiet and most of my wardrobe consists of slightly oversized black shirts (because i am not the skinniest girl around, although im not fat either.) i dont cut and im not suicidle, i’m just different and a bad speller.
Oversized black is either goth or you just like black, emo actually tend to wear black along WITH colorful pink or green or blue, and their clothes are always really tight.

I wear my hair short (when I can be arsed to cut it) and wear Rugby shirts most of the time, with loose jeans or joggers. The only tight clothes I can wear are shirts, I really f**king hate skinny jeans, no matter if they are cool or not

Emo actually means EMOtive, not emotional. It is a style and therefore can be defined by the hair, clothing, etc. The emotive part is just the typical personality of the style. No matter what, it will always be just like every trend, style, and phase that exists. They all have their own conformity, even when they preach non-conformity. Trends are trends, and that’s all they’ll ever be.
